Looking Back.
Here was our break down: Blog, Twitter, Twitterive, Wedding, Oral History, Collaborative Research Project. Writing, Research and Technology has been quite the writing intensive journey for me. I really enjoyed this course. We were a fun group that meshed well. I learned a lot from each of the research, the writing, and the technology aspects.
Writing: When it came to the blog posts, I loved how they were academically assigned with guiding questions. That helped spark my thoughts and narrow my posts. At the same time, I felt there was a flexible curve that was allowed for us to be creative with our blogs. Twitter was one of my biggest struggles when it came to writing. I enjoyed seeing who would share things I wrote online or my peers wrote, but other than that I didn’t enjoy writing my own personal statements publically for all my peers to read. I was forcing tweets to help guide my project of my Twitterive. This was all wrong. In one of my blogs title Twitterive Questions I mention that I was looking for a concrete way to construct my project. That was my downfall. When I changed my writing process for Twitterive I came up with an entire new idea. I couldn’t be happier with my new Twitterive. Then there is the wedding. The wedding was well planned, well constructed, and perfect. Simply said: original, creative, fun, and ice-breaking. My writing process required collaboration with some of my peers. After coming up with common ground we independently wrote our pieces. That was one of my favorite projects in this class. The oral history was not as bad as I anticipated. Since we wrote out questions to ask in our interview it went smooth. If we didn’t write notes and questions to ask, it would’ve been a disaster. But, proper planning produced a nice oral history. Lastly, the Collaborative Research Project was the hardest when it came to writing. It was hard to collaborate with each individual change, edit, correction, or revision of the project with my partner. When we were together it was easier but after going home and working on it there would be a barrier.
Research: Every project in class required research. Some obviously required more than others. Twitter a mode to organize my research, but the Collaborative Research project was driven by my research materials. Each project was different when it came to the amount of research required and the depth of the research. But I do think that it is important to remember research is relative to writing. They work together and that is something I learned in this course.
Technology: I love having the Weebly website to organize me work! I was able to manage my assignments much better this way, rather than having scattered documents and papers all over my desk and laptop. Twitter is obviously a means of technology because it is on the internet. Twitterive project was constructed through the weebly site. But we could use multiple technologies to make our project better and unique. I loved seeing people add Vlogs and videos to their pages. Unfortunately, I am not that savvy. If we had more time for this, I would add more videos to my page to make it more personal. My group’s oral history was done through an Ipad with the SoundCloud app. The Collaborative Research was done on the weebly site. Each of those projects required technology.
